Dubrovnik’s House of Marin Drzic is known for its big heart and love of getting kids involved with tradition.
The House of Marin Drzic and the local Marin Drzic Elementary school have achieved yet more success with another special programme implemented within the educational framework of the school.
Along with their rehabilitators and defectologists, nine children with developmental disabilities attended an art workshop, one of a series taking place in honour of this year, which marks 450 years since Marin Drzic’s premature death in 1567 in Venice, Italy.
Undertaken in special, combinatorial styles, the kids were able to learn different painting techniques, as well as learn to sculpt small shapes using cinnamon, aiding in the development of fine motor skills.
The head of the art workshop was Ivana Gojavic, a professor of visual arts with plenty of experience in working with kids who have various developmental difficulties.
