European Freelancers Week runs from the 7 – 15th October, 2017 and local Split coworking spaces are participating in the initiative by hosting events and giving free spaces during the week.
European Freelancers Week, in only its second year, continues to promote the world of freelancing and coworking spaces around Europe. With an estimated 10,000,000 freelancers in Europe, there is definitely the demand to offer something tailored to this group of workers.
Last year, Amosfera Coworking in Split 3 ran a few events to spark a bit of interest about freelancing and coworking. These two themes which are relatively new in Split, yet can offer so much to the local population due to their excellent English skills and increasing IT knowledge.
This year, they’re back again but with three new partners, the other three coworking spaces in Split – WIP Coworking in Žnjan, Saltwater Workspace Split in the Old Town, and CoCreative Coworking in Spinut.
They will be holding 5 free events between the 7th and 13th of October to highlight freelancers’ lives in Split and beyond, as well as a few events to strengthen their skills.
The week kicks off at 10.30am on the 7th October outside Saltwater Workspace Split, where you will be met by the owner Tanja. She will host a coffee expert as the event guest speaker, take you to experience specialty coffee in Split and discuss the transition freelancers have made from working in coffee shops to working in coworking spaces.
Next up, Michael at Amosfera Coworking Space is offering two sessions on Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th, from 13 – 15h, for people to drop in and spice up their CV or perfect their online profile, checking their English and zhuzhing it up to help them stand out in a sea of freelancers.
On Wednesday night at 19h, you should head to WIP Coworking where they’re hosting a F*** Up Night. Freelancers from all over the world will share where they’ve gone wrong in their careers and embrace the mistakes they may have made. They’re still traveling and freelancing, so it shows you can bounce back from a f*** up!
Finally, to round the week off (cos Freelancers don’t know when the week starts or ends), we’ll be back at Saltwater Workspace Split on Thursday evening at 19.30 for a Freelancers Meetup, with a guest speaker or two in Croatian and English.
Not only are they offering these wonderful events, but they’re also offering a small number of free coworking spaces, from 9am-5pm for the week, you just need to message them in advance and sign up.
