First and foremost, we would like to thank our fire fighters, citizens, Torcida, the media and the tourists who have helped during these difficult times.
We are in the middle of the tourist season, all the tourists from the areas affected by the fire have been cared for and are not in danger. We received numerous questions from tourists last night so, in cooperation with our tourism professionals, hoteliers, private accommodation owners, and camps, we have been able to find accommodation for the people located in the areas affected by fire.
In order to keep our tourists safe, we have shared instructions and important information on closed roads in our tourist information centres and on our Facebook page and we would like to invite all agencies, hotels, and renters to keep on sharing useful information. Our hoteliers have stated that all tourists are well informed and are behaving in accordance with the instructions. Air traffic is normal, as well as ferry and bus transport, and information on closed roads has been shared via our social network profiles.
We would like to invite tourists to contact our tourist information centres for any type of assistance they might require and to follow the latest information and comment on social networks in order to keep as many people as we can up-to-date.
We would also like to express our sympathy to everyone who has suffered material or other types of loss. We can only say that renters from the affected areas have our full support and we will do everything we can to make this difficult situation easier for them.
