2Cellos are playing two shows in Croatia as part of their ongoing European tour

The internationally famous duo 2Cellos is currently touring Europe, with their upcoming shows in Split and Zagreb just a month away: Luka Šulić and Stjepan Hauser will perform for their Croatian audience on March 13 in Spaladium Arena in Split and in Arena Zagreb on March 23.

Slobodna Dalmacija reached out to Hauser on February 6, 2018 to find out how the talented cellists felt about their upcoming show in Split.

“I think it’s been almost six years from our last performance in Split! We played on the riva, it was quite packed. I think there were some 50 thousand people, something like that. We haven’t managed [to play in Split] ever since, and the time has finally come. Split is Split, after all! Split is an important city to us Croats. I think the audience will be on fire, and that we’ll give them an unforgettable experience, as the people of Split are quite temperamental”, said Hauser.

The two have a special emotional bond with Split, as the city played a major part in the video for Love Story, a track from their latest album Score. “Diocletian’s Palace, the Peristyle, it’s all something out of a dream. It’s so beautiful, it’s almost surreal. The piece is titled Love Story, so we wanted to present it in the most romantic way possible”, Hauser stated.

Asked whether he was satisfied with what they’d achieved in their career so far, Hauser was quick to confirm. “Absolutely, I’m living my dream and I couldn’t be happier. Everything I’ve ever visualised or dreamed about is becoming a reality. It’s the power of one’s mental state, as any man can make his thoughts and desires come to life”, he said, adding they have both always loved all types of music and didn’t want to confine themselves to a single genre. “Creativity is limited if you focus on one type of music only, and we had a wish to play in large spaces, stadiums, in front of thousands of people. We were planning a revolution – making the cello and classical music more approachable to a wider audience.”
