Peter Thompson set to run a marathon in Zagreb on Easter Sunday as part of his project
A very impressive individual on an equally impressive mission is coming to Zagreb: meet Peter Thompson, a 32-year-old Brit who set out to run 44 marathons across 44 European countries in 44 consecutive days. His project is called Marathons for the Mind and was conceived to raise funds for two mental health charities, MIND and Holton Lee Livability.
Peter will be running a marathon in Zagreb on Sunday, April 16th 2017. He’s locally supported by Run Zagreb, an association of sport enthusiasts who prepared the marathon route and will be providing logistic support during the event. The route will include Jarun, Bundek and the Sava embankment, but will also take him through the city center to give him a chance for a bit of sightseeing before he runs off to Ljubljana the following day.
He plans to start at 8 AM and reach his goal in Bundek park at noon. I know it’s Easter and most of us will be spending the morning at home, hanging out with our families and stuffing ourselves with food, but if there’s a good enough reason to get out of the house for a couple of hours, this would be it. Go support Peter and cheer him on – you can find more details here, and learn more about the project in the video below:
