5 Events to Check Out in Zagreb This Weekend

The weekend is here, it’s going to be a hot one, with up to 24°, but with a mix of rain and sunshine, so our event suggestions include some outdoors and some indoors activities.

1) SFeraKon
SFeraKon, the oldest and most prestigious science fiction convention in the region, will be held at Faculty of Electrical Engineering and computing for the 39th time this year, May 12 to 14.
One of the most famous guests will be Dalibor Talajić, who has been doing artwork for Marvel since 2009.
The convention will also give a number of organizations that deal with science fiction a chance to present their work, and visitors will be able to enjoy numerous gamerooms, tournaments, RPG game demos, as well as a book fair, jewellery workshops, etc.

2) Zvi Hecker: I Draw Because I have to Think

The exhition revolves around architectural drawings of the Israeli architect that were created for the realized project Schiphol-Amsterdam. It provides an insight into the thinking and working process and development of an architectural idea or, in other words, into one particular methodology that establishes itself through drawing.

3) Zagreb Comic Con

The biggest comic con in the region is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Visit Art Pavilion and you can attend various lectures, workshops, see exhibition, hear Jordi Bernet , Eduardo Risso, Alfonso Font, François Boucq and Dalibor Talajić speak, buy new comics, and much more.

4) Fieldtrip to Sišćani and Blatnica Fishponds

Sišćani

BIOM is organising a trip to Sišćani and Blatnica Fishponds on Saturday, May 13, leaving at 6:30 a.m. in front of Vatroslav Lisinski concert hall. The trip costs 70 HRK and you have to join BIOM before leaving. Return to Zagreb will be at 5 p.m. You need to bring your own food and water, sunscreen and hat and binoculars.

5) Secret Arts Cinema

This edition of Secret Arts Cinema is dedicated to Mother’s Day and will be shown at Zagreb Dance Centre, presenting ballet. The title of the movie is kept a secret until its start.
