An entertaining and educational one-day program for children called Eco Academy will be held daily at the Zagreb ZOO, March 18 – April 23. This year’s topic is the weather and the program is intended for primary school students, grades 2-6.
Students will find out more about the meteorological phenomena – both the favourable ones, like the rain and the devastating ones, like floods. The lessons combine theory and practice, so students will learn how to indentify different cloud types or how to build a windmill, in order to learn about sustainability and understand how wind power can be used.
Weather conditions affect every living thing, including animals. Children will learn how global warming affects polar bears and all the workshops are held outside, near the actual animals, making the lectures fun and interesting to children. There will also be various games, experiments, interesting bugs and colorful birds.
You can visit the Eco Academy every day, March 18 – April 23 two times a day:
8 a.m. – 2 p.m., and
12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
The price is 70 kn and you can find out more and enrol here.
