The biggest and longest-standing open-air festival in Croatia, INmusic, is less than two months away
INmusic festival is held at the end of June and it normally coincides with public holidays in Croatia, making it an ideal place for most music lovers of Zagreb to spend their free time at.
The idyllic forest scenery next to Jarun Lake, where you can swim if it gets too hot, is a favourite among the audience because it’s still cheaper than most similar European festivals (three day festival ticket costs 60 EUR), and it’s still relatively low-key in comparison to other big festivals. Bands and singers such as Franz Ferdinand, Arcade Fire, Iggy Pop and Nick Cave keep coming back to perform, meaning that they enjoying being in Zagreb as much as the audience loves having them.
It was named one of the 50 best summer music festivals in the world by CNN, the best 3 in the world by National Geographic Traveller, and described as ‘one of Europe’s best-kept secret festivals’ by NME, among others.
The Black Keys, Hot Chip, Archie Bronson Outfit, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Morcheeba, Pendulum, TV on the Radio, Mastodon, New Order, Mando Diao, Pixies, Wolfmother, Foals, Crystal Fighters, Of Monster and Men, Future Islands, Florence + The Machine are just some of the names who have performed at INmusic festival during its 11 years.
In addition to music, the festival has a cultural side as well – various artistic installations have been added over the years, such as Tesla Tower, a big rocking horse, light installations etc.
Camping is also available, and it’s not your average camping – there are hot showers and free WiFi.
Good food, great music, three stages and three days will satisfy even the most demanding festivalgoers’ music tastes.
It gets muddy, so don’t forget to bring your wellies!
