More Than One Thousand Places Left Unfilled at Zagreb University

There are 1,473 vacancies at the University of Zagreb, 367 at the University of Split, and 225 at the University of Rijeka.

According to Agency for Science and Higher Education (AZVO), around 28 thousand students passed the 2017/2018 entrance exams for Croatian universities, Novi List reported on July 18.The most popular areas of study were public health and health care.

The AZVO Central Registration Office reports that 31,685 candidates applied for the studies in the summer registration period, 28,331 out of which were successful.

Based on the ratio of priorities and quota applications, excluding study programs with a quota of 10 students and fewer, the most sought after study programs are Speech and Language Pathology at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy at the University of Applied Health Sciences in Zagreb.

Looking at the scientific fields, based on the ratio of priorities and quotas, the greatest interest was shown in the fields of public health and health care, followed by psychology, clinical medical science, education-rehabilitation science, and basic medical sciences, says the statement.

Candidates who have not been successful in applying for their desired study programme during the summer can also take the entrance exam in the autumn if there are vacancies in the programme and if the higher education institution has decided to offer the possibility of taking an autumn entrance exam.

Students will be able to apply for autumn entrance exams July 24 – September 19, 2017, when the final list of candidates will be made public.
