After the new passenger terminal of Franjo Tudjman Airport was officially opened last night, Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic and Velika Gorica mayor Drazen Barisic, took a test ride on a new bus route, line 290. The future bus route Zagreb (Kvaternik Square) – Airport – Velika Gorica will become operational after the access roads from the eastern ring road towards the new passenger terminal have been finished.
“This line is the realization of a long-lasting dream the citizens of Velika Gorica have had, to be able to reach Zagreb faster.” Mayor Barisic said. “This is a great moment for all of us and I would like to thank everyone, especially Mr. Bandic and ZET, who contributed to improving our citizens’ lives and their transport options.” Velika Gorica Mayor added.
“This route has been the dream of many ever since the old airport was built. This is a historic moment which has given us an additional obligation to start building the tram tracks that will connect Kvaternik Square and the airport, the first metre of which will be laid in May” Mayor Bandic said.
