Calling all Bambi fans!
If you’re feeling adventurous and want to go exploring, but get a headache at the thought of how many people there are at Plitvice Lakes now that it’s peak season, Buro 24/7 suggests an alternative site located nearby – Ranch Dolina Jelena (Ranch Deer Valley).
As its name suggests, there are real, Bambi-like deer there – 17 red deer and 55 fallow deer, as well as black pigs from Slavonia and three horses.
The 15-hectares ranch is located in the area of Drežnik Grad, a village located 12 kilometres from Plitvice Lakes National Park.
The Bićanić Family, who own the ranch, take care of the animals and this year they have started offering tours which include a tour of the ranch with one of the family members, finding out more about the animals, and a close encounter with the animals while feeding them.
At HRK 70 (and free of charge for children under 7), this is truly a steal.
