Works on New Cableway Set to Finish by the End of 2018

The new cableway is set to open on December 31, 2018.

Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandić announced at the session of the City Assembly that the new Sljeme cableway will be finished on December 31, 2018, Poslovni dnevnik reports on September 28, 2017.

“We will take the cableway up to Sljeme on December 31, 2018, on New Year’s Eve, to welcome the Ski Cup that will take place there in early January 2019,” the Mayor said to city councilman Matej Mišić from the SDP, who asked him when the cableway will be finished considering the fact that the initial deadline was August 2018, and only 1.8% of the budget has been spent so far.

The Mayor reminded the public that it took eight years and two Government cabinets to approve the spatial plan and start the construction works. He pointed out that there are four more stages left, which will cost EUR 35 million, or HRK 220 million.

He also added that all the necessary documents to issue tenders for the construction works to start should be obtained by the end of the year.
