Zagreb Design Week is the biggest event in Croatia dedicated to design and a festival that activates the entire city. The festival includes major design exhibition, lectures, panels, workshops, presentations, pop-up shops, hosting some of the world’s most influential designers. A design exhibition will also be organised in cooperation with the Festival’s partner country (this year it’s Austria) in order to present Croatian audience with the parner country’s design scene.

This year’s topic, What is the problem?, was imagined as a platform to raise awarness among people that design is more than just fashion, style and marketing tool.The best designers nowadays are here not only to give solutions to problems, but to reinvent the system responsible for that problems as well.

The fourth edition of the festival will be held May 9 to 14, 2017, at fifty different locations around Zagreb. The central locations are Lauba People and Art House and the Design Park next to Lauba.
Zagreb Design Week No. 4 will once again celebrate the best Croatian and international design and offer many attractive venues and events to all design lovers.

As a partner country, Austria will participate in this event with an exhibition presenting an overview of Austrian contemporary design and a series of lectures at Lauba. The program is part of The Austrian-Croatian year of culture 2017, developed in cooperation with the Austrian Cultural Forum Zagreb.

Zagreb Design Week has been the main design event in Croatia since 2014 and its aim is to connect designers and businesspeople and make design more popular and more accessible to the general public. It was visited by more than 18,000 visitors last year. The organizers have announced a number of new features, including Food Design, which will bring together the world’s leading experts in this young and interdisciplinary area of design.
