Not many Zagreb residents are aware of this, but in addition to more than 40 regular libraries, Zagreb City Libraries also has two mobile libraries, known as bibliobuses. Not only do they exist, but they have been putting smiles on people’s faces around the city for 41 years now, since 1976!
The bibiliobus crosses 78 service points, some of them in Zagreb, and others in Velika Gorica, Zaprešić or Jastrebarsko. The bus spends an hour and a half at each location, and it comes back to the same location once every two weeks. See the times here.
13 bibliobus employees work in two shifts and if a title you’re interested in is not available, you can order it by phone and pick it up in two weeks.The bigger bus offers 6,000 and the smaller one 4,000 titles. You can use your Zagreb City Library membership card to borrow books, or you can get your card directly at the bibliobus. Find out more about Zagreb City Libraries here
