A Hvar Grape Making Waves in the Big Apple: Caric in New York

Total Croatia News

It may only grown on the island of Hvar, but the island’s Bogdanusa is being drunk in some very presitigous addresses around the world. Caric in New York.

Apart from the fact that the quality of Hvar’s wines is becoming better known, one reason for their increasing success internationally has been the fact that they have influential admirers in important places. From New York to California, for example, the wines of Ivo Caric are now being drunk by an American public who finally have the chance to sample some of the island’s better wines.

The work of Frank Dietrich of The Blue Danube Wine Company in California, and that of sommelier Cliff Rames and his pioneering Wines of Croatia project have done much to promote Hvar wines, as well as others in Croatia.

Cliff is in action again today, putting the Caric Bogdanjusa in front of the great and the good at a special wine tasting of The Wine Media Guild in New York City:

Topic: Island Wines of the Mediterranean Basin

Speakers: Kamal Kouiri (Wine Director, Molyvos, NYC), Jennifer O’Flanagan (New Wines of Greece) and Cliff Rames (Sommelier and Founder of Wines of Croatia)
