End of a Hvar Radio Era as Free For Stops Broadcasting

The end of a Hvar radio era this week, as Free For Radio stops broadcasting.

Sad news for Hvar radio lovers this week, as Free For Radio stopped broadcasting on Monday. The news was brought to us by our colleagues at Otok Hvar.

As a foreigner living in Jelsa, I will not get into the reasons why, as I don’t know enough about the background and politics, but what I will say is that the station will be missed by many, and I will always remember it as the place where I gave my first ever radio interview. In bad Croatian.

I actually didn’t realise it was going to be a live interview in Croatian when I arrived at the studio 10 minutes before the programme went out, and I will always be grateful to Katija for gently guiding me through the interview. She wrote a very nice farewell piece on Igor’s site, which you can read here.
