I genuinely cannot remember ever being so excited to go and see a film.
And finally, more than a year after seeing the excellent trailer, the much-awaited Fishermens Conversations will be coming to screens in Hvar Town and Jelsa next month.
Four years in the making, the film is a look at the changing lives of the fishermen of the island of Hvar, a tribute of love from producer Chiara Bove Makiedo, to her late grandfather, a Hvar fisherman who died at the age of three.
Few have seen the film so far, which has (to my knowledge) only been shown at three festivals so far – London, Rejkavik and Vukovar, but there will be three screenings next month on the island, two in Hvar Town on October 9 and 10, one in Jelsa on October 11.
We will post information about online ticket purchases shortly, but I strongly recommend you come to watch what for me has the potential to be one of the most beautiful films about Hvar ever. Watch the trailer below.
