Oh, just where to start with this one. A cliff-jumping paradise. A beautiful beach and amazing stone cliffs cutting deep into the dark blue sea. I personally would be more than happy not to step a foot into this place ever again. It is on my blacklist since I became a mother.

We must have been really young and brainless (which would probably also mean not boring at that time), when we were taking my husband′s nephew and niece and my cousin′s kids to jump from the high cliffs of Mala Stiniva. We were childless at that time. Young and fearless. Taking responsibility for other people′s kids, not ever thinking about all the stuff, that could have had happened down there. Did I mention we were brainless? Brainless is the word.

Fortunately for us, we always managed to return the kids in one piece and they had great time learning to jump there. And although my husband can jump from those heights and he was teaching the kids how to do it in a safe way, I would never consider taking any kids with us ever again. Not my own, for sure. I am old and boring these days. Safety first, responsibility and keeping the kids alive are my main goals nowadays.

But Mala Stiniva belongs to this 25 Reasons list and it is a must visit for all of you, who had such wonderful uncles and cousins, who taught you how to cliff jump, when you were a kid. And even if you are not into cliff jumping, the beach is really beautiful and tends to be less crowded as it is not the easiest one in terms of accessibility by car.

Getting there by boat would be the best option. Again, if you have your own, be sure to use it to get to Mala Stiniva. If coming by car, you have to take the renovated road from Jelsa toward Sucuraj up to Poljica. Follow the sign at the beginning of the village and the side road will bring you down to a dead end. Leave your car on the road, but be sure to leave the turning space at the end of the road free, so everyone gets the chance to turn and get back again.

Mala Stiniva is a rather unique place on the island, be sure to visit it this summer!
