Full of Summer Flavor: O’Kiz Festival Begins on Hvar this Week

O’Kiz festival, which is in its 2nd edition this year, will take place from August 18-23 with dance workshops in Hvar town and parties on the Pakleni islands.

O’Kiz is a festival than spans over 5 days, boasting daily dance workshops and late night parties – with patrons expected to come from all over the world.

 

The workshops held at O’Kiz festival will focus on dance and music such as Kizomba (a popular genre of dance that originated in Angola), Semba (a traditional type of music from Angola) and Bachata (a style of dance and music from the Dominican Republic). The workshops will take place at the local sports hall in Hvar town. Instructors for Kizomba and Semba are: Gwany & Kizzy, Edoardo & Denise, Ludo & Sandra, Jazzy Cubango, Ronie Saleh, Semkita, Lionel Massou, and Ozy Shyne. Bachata instructors are: Sanja & Dejan, Mark-anthony, and Kristijan.

 

The night will turn into late night parties at AMO beach on Jerolim island, with top artists playing music from the salsa, kizomba, semba, afro-house, and hip hop scene. The night parties will begin at 22h each evening. The DJ’s taking the stage will be: DJS: Dj Chad, Dj Ozy Shyne, Dj Sai Sai, Dj Ghostface, Dj Stefanio Lima, Dj Jazzy, and Dj MAS.

 

To enrich the offer even further, there will be boat and pool parties held at the popular Carpe Diem Beach at Stipanska.
