Palmizana in May: a World of Music Retreats and Swimming Coaching Holidays

Total Croatia News

If there was ever a survey done on the Adriatic coast about private businesses contributing to the tourism offer of a destination over the years, I would be very surprised if any of them came close to the Meneghello family on Palmizana on the Pakleni Islands.

For over 50 years, this one family has been attracting world class artists and innovative events to this slice of natural paradise, and the privately produced Palmizana Cultural Summer puts the efforts of many a funded tourist board to shame. It was the same family, of course, that started tourism on Palmizana in 1906 – an island with no water or electricity – a full five years before Jelsa even had a hotel.

And as another season begins, so too will the events in Palmizana begin. May sees a couple of interesting ones, for example, and you are not too late to book.

Ever wanted to go on a music retreat in Paradise? Now is your chance with the Palmizana Music Retreat, from April 30 to May 14. More details on this link, but perhaps more enticing would be to watch the official video trailer below.

The focus will turn to the sea from May 13-19 (as well as additional dates in October), as the dynamic Meneghello team has teamed up with SwimQuest to provide a delightful swimming training holiday package. Suitable for all swimming abilities, improve your technique and let the SwimQuest guides escort you along beautiful coastlines and from islet to islet on this rejuvenating fitness holiday.

SwimQuest are clearly happy to have expanded their business to Paradise:

“It has taken us a while to find the perfect SwimQuest spot in Croatia, but it has finally happened! SwimQuest and the Meneghello family are proud and excited to welcome you to an exclusive hideaway on the island of St Klement, also known as ‘Palmizana’ or ‘the island of rosemary’.This island-hopping swimming holiday is an ideal way to explore Croatia at it’s finest. This gorgeous chain of 21 wooded isles boasts sapphire seas, deserted beaches and lagoons, and is set against a stunning botanical backdrop, and easily accessible from Split.”
