Ok, I know it is not a lot, and that the rest of the country is becoming covered in white, but snow on Hvar is snow on Hvar.
Just a tiny sprinkling this morning, and many thanks to Punica of the Year Zorica Milicic for the photo.
Hvar is famous for allegedly offering free hotel accommodation when it snows. Sadly, when I tried to put this to the test during the big snow of 2012, I was told that there was indeed free accommodation – a complimentary eighth night for guests who have spent seven nights with continuous snow. Not quite the same.
The situation is a little more worrying at Total Hvar HQ, Northern Division. I have been told to go and buy a shovel and learn how to shovel snow, not something I was called on to do a lot in Jelsa. To be continued…
