Long-term fans of Hvar, and especially its property scene, may recall an outstanding article written in Forbes Magazine in about 2004 about one journalist’s attempts to buy a property on the island. Ultimately successful, his quest took him through the back streets of Stari Grad with some murky characters passing themselves off as real estate agents before he finally struck gold through a private transaction in the village of Rudina. It was a delightful article, bringing out the charms of the island and the scary world of property purchase in Croatia a decade ago.
Josh Levine is back, this time with a fabulous feature on Hvar for the influential American magazine Travel and Leisure. It was a pleasure to give Josh a few pointers for his article, and I am grateful for a little mention for this website. Read his excellent article here.
