Hvar Nightlife: A Quieter Veneranda Opening in May

Total Croatia News

A change of approach for Veneranda this summer, and the good news for residents is it will be a lot quieter.

I must say I find the goings on of the Hvar nightlife scene quite fascinating. Lots of things that never make the news, and I have heard some very interesting stories and rumours this winter, as well as some rather surprising developments.

The transformation of Hotel Sirena into a party hotel was looking as though it would happen, but then did not. The opening of a casino at Hotel Delfin is still on the cards, I understand, but not for this summer. Festivals, festivals – For 2013, Ultra Europe and OHM – it will be an intereting summer to watch how things unfold.

And then there is the question of Veneranda in the heart of Hvar Town, home to the Prince Harry swimming pool, as well as a thumping party from early July to late August last year.

Things will be different this year, a lot different. The first difference is that the club will open on May 25 – see the flyer above from the Veneranda Facebook page. The second difference I understand is that the late and loud music will be inside the chapel area only, so it should be a lot quieter for the neighbourhood. It also seems from the flyer below that there is a little rebranding going on, with Veneranda changing to Club Kapela. I have a meeting with the people involved in running the club next week, so hope to bring more info then.
