The international interest in Hvar wine is there. Time to build the infrastructure.
Build it and they will come…
There was a fantastic response to our announcement yesterday to start to promote Svirce and Jelsa as the village and town of Hvar wine. A great response from the island’s wine makers, but crucially also from the international partners and agencies whose job it is to find the quality wine-loving visitors we are looking for.
Totally unrelated, our Total Split website received the following enquiry this morning:
I am a Tour and Travel Manager in a Scandinavian travel agency. We have a group of 8 people willing to come to Split in September for six days. I would like to include in the program some excursions, like for example
Day Sailing to a Winery on Brać with a Five Course Traditional Lunch
Winery Visit with a 15-Course Molecular Tasting Menu
Palace Walk and a Sundowner Wine & Cheese Tasting
Please, could you explain me a little bit about these 3 programs with timetable and price, including English speaking guide, lunch, wines, entrances, bus…?
Our agency is specialized in wine and gastronomy tours and right now our main destinations are in Italy, France and Spain, so we woule like to create new programs and offer in the future also Croatia to the Scandinavian market.

All of these tours were put together this year by the Total Split team, a simple combination of a reliable partner, a good idea and great logisitics. Dalmatia is set to see a surge in gastro tours in my opinion, so let’s make Hvar the heart of that tourism. Everything is in place except the organisation. If you would like to work with us on this project, contact us on [email protected]
The email above is just one example of the enquiries that are coming, and the increase in tourism with EU entry gives us the perfect opportunity to get organised now and provide central Hvar with quality (and year-round) tourism.
