Loch Ness Hvar: Is There a Dragon in Zavala? The Video Evidence…

Does Hvar have its very own Loch Ness Monster? Some rather compelling evidence captured on video in Zavala.

As we reported previously, the first inhabitants of Hvar were dinosaurs, and the discovery of dinosaur prints by a research team including National Geographic in 2004 is proof of that. But what about exotic species today. Is it possible there could be a dragon living on Hvar in 2013?

Before you think I have started on the rakija a little early this morning, read on…

“Daddy, don’t be silly,” said young Hannah, aged 7, “everyone knows that dragons are not real.” A resigned look in my direction from her younger sister indicated that perhaps they had finally realised I was a little odd with a very strange sense of humour.

“Really? Well watch this 30 second video and tell me if it is not a dragon, what is it?”

Young eyes widened, mouths opened. Silence after the video, as young brains tried to assimilate what they had seen with their knowledge of the lack of dragons. Finally young Taliah spoke:

“Well, we know that dragons do not exist, but maybe sea dragons do?” she ventured hopefully.

Indeed. Check out the dragon’s breathing in the video below, the first breath after six seconds. Many thanks to Total Hvar’s intrepid southside reporter, Peter Illing, for the find. After a little research, he discovered that the friendly dragon lives very peacefully, and his breathing can only be seen when a particular south wind blows on the shore near Skalinada in Zavala, and only when the waves hit the shore.
