A new director, a new start for Jelsa tourism, and while I don’t think anyone to expect wonders given the timeframe from the appointment and the imminent season, 2017 could be very interesting indeed.
And while young Dubokovic is still finding his feet, it appears that a few things are already starting. Small steps, but significant ones in the long journey to get Jelsa tourism back to where it belongs.
Take this Saturday for example, a really nice initiative to bring the community and any tourists together, including restaurants in the initiative – I can’t remember ever seeing a tourist board publishing detailsof restaurants open out of season – and you have a choice of six in Jelsa this Saturday after you have enjoyed the Days of Hvar Olive Oil Challenge.
Organised by the Jelsa Tourist Board and local authorities and Udruga Sv. Spirajun, the fun starts at 18:00 in the Opcina building next to the main square. Tasting, judging, education. With medals at the end.
