Finally! Hvar will have its own helicopter service based on the island.
A few weeks ago, I was invited to meet a very nice Swiss couple over a mojito at Hula Hula. The reason for the meeting was to discuss a rather nice plan they had.
To start a helicopter transfer and panorama service for Dalmatia (and beyond) based on Hvar.
They even had their own helicopter…
After lots of battles with Croatian bureaucracy, discussions with the ministry and the airfield in Stari Grad, all now seems to be ready, and the island will welcome its first helicopter transfer service based on Hvar.

Some information about the helicopter’s capacity:
Model is a Robinson R44 Clipper II equipped with pop-out floats
Seat capacity is 3 passengers + pilot. Small baggage compartment under each seat.
Maximum take off weight is 1’134 kg
Cruise speed is approx. 200 km/h
Although the helicopter will be based on Stari Grad, it will be available for tranfers anywhere (with starting point Stari Grad). There should also be the option to do some panoramic flights. More information and a basic pricelist will be published shortly. Services could start as early as next week.
