After a 7 Year Wait, Split Getting a Student Canteen in the Centre

Total Croatia News

Studying is easier on a full stomach, and with two new canteens, Split is becoming a much more “student friendly” city

It was a very long wait, but judging by the first photos, it was worth it. Students in Split are finally getting back their canteen in the centre. The last hurdle, noise made by the cooling system, seems to be resolved so we can expect the opening very soon, Dalmacijanews.hr reports on November 27, 2015.

Director of the Student Centre Split, Gordana Raos is more than pleased that all the problems have been resolved and that Student Centre will now have two more canteens for its students.

“I am happy to announce we’ve started resolving all the disputes and that the canteen in the centre of the city will open its doors soon. There’s still some work to be done when it comes to setting up equipment and other facilities for the canteen to be fully operational, we have to pass all the tests but I don’t see a reason for us to fail them. New canteen will be able to serve 400 to 500 meals a day and we are hoping to open just before Christmas, if everything goes according to plan” said Raos.

At the same time, a new canteen is expected to open at the University of Medicine, with the same daily capacity as the canteen in the centre “We are waiting for the operational license and we are arranging the opening with the University and its rector. This canteen also has a beautiful terrace, so students will be able to relax” Raos added.
Here are the photos of the future student canteen in the centre, brought to you by Dalmacijanews.hr and their photographer Marko Šarić
