Think it’s cold now? Bura messing up your hair? This is just the tip of the proverbial (or perhaps, realistic) iceberg with the vast majority of the country expected to fall into the grip of a serious cold snap very soon.
Crometeo, one of Croatia’s most trusted meteorological organisations, predicts that the second half of 2017’s maiden week will send temperatures plummeting along with it. The coldest weather is forecast to occur on Friday and Saturday with temperatures rapidly falling to approximately -20°C in the Zagorje area and -10°C on the coast, with the highest parts of the country freezing at an incredibly low -25°C.
Should Crometeo’s ever-so slightly unnerving forecasts come true, this weekend could be the closest runner up to the coldest ever temperature on record for Croatia, which was recorded in Cakovec in 1929.
