The popular street food festival is back!
Good news for all burger fans. On September 13, the Zagreb Burger Festival will begin at the Strossmayer Square. In just three years, it has become the most visited street food event in Croatia, with around 170,000 visitors last year. This year’s festival will last until September 23 and an even larger number of visitors is expected, reports Jutarnji List on September 1, 2018.
The creativity in making wonderful and occasionally unusual burgers will be demonstrated by eighteen of the most famous Croatian burger masters from Zagreb, Pula and Split: El Toro, 50 A Burger&Champagne Bar, Good Food, Mason Burgers&Stuff, BarBaQ, Đurina hiža/Meat the King, Cellar Grill, RougeMarin, Submarine, The Burger Bar, Burger Factory, The Garden Bar&Kitchen, Pod zidom, Kascheta, Toto’s Burger Bar, Kitchen&Grill Plac, Maredo Grill i Špiro.
Would you like to try a whiskey burger or the one with truffles? Or maybe you prefer a lamb variant or a burger filled with homemade salsa or an avocado sauce? Expect the unexpected and get to know Croatia’s strongest burger concepts.
The festival also brings one major novelty: visitors will be able to enjoy the burgers without having to wait in lines. They will select and order their burgers via a mobile app and receive a notification on their mobile phones as soon as they are ready.
The festival includes a competition programme, so food bloggers, media, jury and visitors will select their favourites. For the first time, the festival will also bring together world-famous DJs, including Huey Morgan, the frontman of the well-known band Fun Lovin Criminals, and Kenny Dope.
Of course, no festival is complete without an outdoor playroom for the youngest guests. Trampolines will be eagerly awaiting the children.
