“Visitors will have the opportunity to take part in the richest programme so far, i.e. we are back blacker than ever.” said organiser Boris Lešić
Fans of authentic lamb, but also entertainment, Krk Island, music and much more will definitely enjoy the time between the 12th and the 14th of May 2017, when the popular Black Sheep festival is set to take place on Krk Island. The festival celebrates individualism, creativity, island heritage, popular culture, sport and the well-known Baška lamb. Sheep here live exclusively on aromatic Mediterranean herbs grown from stone and spiced with Adriatic Sea salt. With the support of Baška District and its tourism board as hosts, the main sponsor and partner of the festival is Valamar Riviera, while the Black Sheep is organised by Studio Conex.
“All planned programmes are free for visitors, while the event is primarily aimed at branding the destination and increasing the tourism offer in the preseason. Visitors will have the opportunity to take part in the richest programme so far, i.e. we are back blacker than ever,” said jokingly Boris Lešić, director of the Studio Conex agency. The weekend programme’s highlights include a photo exhibition by Brian Rašić dedicated to David Bowie, after which comes a concert by the Zagreb band Jinx, promoting their new album the audience has been waiting seven years for!
On Saturday, a whole line-up of events awaits visitors, from the Corinthia Cup sailing regatta, to the children’s Black Lamb football tournament, the lamb stew competition and numerous presentations showing off the rich heritage and customs of the island of Krk. The evening will come to a close with hip-hop and rock black sheep, concerts of popular bands: The Beat Fleet from Split and Let 3 from Rijeka, Lešić announced, while Damir Martinović Mrle from Let 3 predicted a most intense jam ever for all Black Sheep who find themselves on Baška on May 13.
Visitors will also be able to join a trekking camp, mountain and cycling tours in the area and under the title Sheep Crusade and Beeecycle to the Moon fly in a balloon over Baška during the sailing regatta, try their hand at making the indigenous Valcic pasta, listen to the promenade performances of cultural societies, practice yoga or just enjoy street art.
