Citizens of Dubrovnik Celebrate 1049th Festivity of Saint Blaise

The mass was said by the Coadjutor Archbishop of the Rijeka Archdiocese and Bishop of Dubrovnik, Mate Uzinić.

A limited number of attendees participated in the feast, including Culture and Media Minister Nina Obuljen Koržinek.

The feast began with the traditional release of white doves and the raising of the patron saint’s flag in front of Saint Blaise’s Church, and it will end on Sunday, 7 February, with a procession and mass and the lowering of the flag in front of the church.

The Festivity of Saint Blaise was included in the UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2009.
