A true feast for classic car lovers.
As part of the Third Slavonian Classic Car Rally “Vinkovci 2016”, organized by the Classic Car Club “Stari Sjaj”, about 50 classic cars paraded on Sunday through the streets of Vinkovci. That was a great chance for the citizens to see up close the classic cars produced many decades ago, but which have still retained their old glory, reports Večernji List on May 8, 2016.
Perhaps the most attention was attracted by a Packard from 1937, which is owned by Ivan Bagarić from Nova Gradiška. He explained that the first Packard automobiles were produced in 1899, while the company produced its final car in 1958. He added that it was a brand of luxury cars built first by the Packard Motor Car Company from Detroit, and then later by the Studebaker-Packard Corporation from South Bend in Indiana.
“We have organized similar events for the last six years, and this is our third gathering as part of the Slavonian Classic Car Rally. A total of about fifty vehicles came to Vinkovci from all over Croatia and neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina”, said the president of the Classic Car Club “Stari Sjaj” Tomislav Šunjić.
This was another opportunity for people of Vinkovci to see these beautiful cars up close, to ask questions about their driving characteristics, when they were produced, how much petrol they use and what their price is, but also to take numerous photos with the cars and their owners.
