Total Croatia News to the rescue
Split mayor Ivo Baldasar handed over the keys of the city to the organisers of Split Carnival on January 30, 2016, marking the beginning of the most colourful time of the year when you are finally allowed to put your mask on and be someone else. There’s a whole string of events happening in Split this year during the carnival season (16 different programmes to be exact), and as the organiser said on my radio show yesterday, the aim is to bring as many tourists to Split in the preseason. Great idea, but there’s one slight problem.
If you want foreign tourists to come to the city and experience our carnival festivities, it may not be a bad idea to actually provide some information about it in English. After all, you’re getting a rather large sum of money from the City and the Split Tourist Board to organise the event, it’s hard to imagine it would be THAT expensive to pay someone to translate the programme so you can post it on your official carnival page www.krnjeval.com.
After many comments and complaints from the vibrant expat community in Split, it’s Total Croatia News to the rescue. here is the complete programme of this year’s Split Carnival in…you guessed it….English!
