Crikvenica to Introduce Vignettes for Some Buses

Gone are the days of dangerous drop-offs in Crikvenica. Buses will be able to enter the city with a vignette, after which they will be provided with a parking space where passengers can disembark and board.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 8th of June, 2018, buses transporting passengers on one-day excursions to the coastal destination of Crikvenica will no longer be able to enter the city for free as of the 15th of June, these measures will remain in force until the 15th of September. Instead, carriers will have to purchase a vignette at a rather considerable price of 40,000 kuna to cover that period.

This was confirmed Tena Peričić in Crikvenica, who also said that this decision was brough in with the hope of potentially reducing the number of tourists during weekends. She noted that the City of Crikvenica had been thinking about such a decision for a long time, adding that it was now time to finally put it into practice.

“The buses will be able to enter the city with a vignette and they’ll be provided with a parking space where passengers can disembark and board, and the bus be parked. So far, dropping the passengers in the middle of the road has been the practice, which endangers the safety of passengers and other traffic. This decision has been being mulled over for a long time and we didn’t just bring it in overnight, there’s a security problem. The frequency of people during weekends is too huge. This decision will enable higher quality and safety and quality standards,” concluded Peričić.
