Even though Statehood Day was on Saturday, foreign dignitaries joined the Croatian Ambassador to Greece to celebrate the occasion today.

It was quite a turnout on June 28, 2016, at the St. George Lycabettus hotel for the celebration of Croatia’s Statehood day in Athens. Foreign dignitaries, museum managers, artists, musicians, they all attended an official event hosted by the Ambassador of Croatia to Greece Dr. Ivan Velimir Starcevic.

In his short speech, His Excellency thanked the guest for taking the time to celebrate this very important day in Croatia’s history, and vowed that Croatia, now a member of the EU, will continue to promote and strengthen the values of the European Union and the cooperation between all the countries whose representatives were present today at the official reception.

Among the guests were Ambassadors of Venezuela, Ireland, Slovenia, Serbia, South Africa, representatives of the Greek government and many other well-known faces on the Athenian social scene. It was nice to see just how much effort the Croatian embassy is putting into connecting Croatia and Greece, especially when it comes to entrepreneurs and IT startups, and hopefully, we will be able to report on their progress in the near future.
