The EU and world market creates greater chances of success for Croatia’s growing number of eco-producers.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 15th of February, 2018, the average consumption when it comes to eco products in Croatia amounts to 23 euro, as opposed to 47 euro in the rest of the European Union, and as the EU and the world market for organic products continues to steadily but surely grow, Croatian producers here at home have a chance to grow with it.
More than 300 exhibitors from 30 countries, including 11 Croats, organised jointly by the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, are at the leading world fair of eco-products, BioFach fair in Nuremberg, Germany, until February the 17th.
It is estimated that the Croatian products on show will be seen by more than 50,000 specialised customers from all over the world, and that exports, with a slowly growing domestic market coupled with tourist consumption, is a great mix for a good chance of success for Croatia’s growing number of eco-producers.
“We believe that the fair will open up new business opportunities and we’ll improve our knowledge and experience in the production and presentation of our products,” said the owner of Stella Mediterana, Andrija Polić.
The market for ecological products in Croatia is worth about 100 million euro, which makes up only 2% of total retail sales. In addition, Croatia imports most of its organic products from outside.
