The rights to Počivali u miru (May they rest in peace), Croatian TV drama series developed as a part of the National development program for audiovisual industry, were just purchased by Belgium Public Television for Flemish speaking regions – Vlaamse Radio en Televisieomroeporganisatie (VRT), member of EBU.
This is the first Croatian show financed by Croatian Radio Television and the Croatian Audio Visual Centre to be shown on a TV station in Western Europe and it will air during prime time without voice overs. Producer and creator of the TV series Dario Vince said that it was also purchased by two TV stations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and one TV station in Montenegro.
“Despite the fact that both Slovenian and Serbian public televisions are facing hard financial times, we believe the series will be shown there soon, too. Our entry to the Belgian market could not only help us but also all other teams trying to create ambitious drama projects. It’s good that we are finally getting the attention of the wider global market” Vince continued.
Croatian Radio television is currently showing the second season and if all goes according to plan, one more season will be filmed with final 10 episodes.
