Survey reveals our spending habits and the fact that we don’t like to shop online

Boy do we love the holiday season here in Croatia. Not only because of the family gatherings and mountains of food but also because it gives us the perfect excuse to shop till we drop.

Ferratum group published the results of their recent public survey on December 11, 2015 which reveals our holiday spending habits in Croatia. During the holiday season, Croatians will spend 26,4% of their total monthly income on things they find necessary for Christmas, but if you think that’s a lot, Brits will, for example, spend as much as 38,5%.

Croatians will spend most of this money on books, music, electronic gadgets, toys and – alcohol. When asked whether they will spend more or less than last year, 64,6% answered they will probably spend the same amount as in 2014, 20% will spend less and 15,4% will spend more.

There survey also revealed an interesting trend when it comes to online shopping in Croatia during 2015, only 13,3% of Croatians regularly buy things online which puts us way below the EU and world average. For example, 38,9% of shoppers in the UK shop online, 31,6% of Germans and 27,2% of people in the Netherlands.

So, store owners don’t have to worry, it will be busy this holiday season and they still don’t have to worry that Internet is taking away their business.
