Another novelty this year is that the City of Zagreb has recognised the Osijek manifestation and decided to organise something similar on Bundek Lake
This year’s programme of Easter celebrations was announced at a press conference, with the central manifestation being, as in the past several years, the “2017 Largest Easter nest in the world”
Osijek residents and visitors of the town on the Drava River will be able to admire a large Easter nest on the main Osijek square, built this year by pupils of the School for Applied Arts and Design led by professor Drago Stojanović. They will begin building it on Good Friday and have called on all Osijek residents to help them build and decorate it, Osijek031 has reported on April 12, 2017.
The “2017 Largest Easter nest in the world” manifestation will be ceremoniously opened on Holy Saturday at 9h, with a performance by the members of the Scout Association Slavonski Hrast and Fencing Club Dmitar Zvonimir.
This year’s manifestation will also have a humanitarian note as all the straw will be donated to the association I Can for therapy horse riding by their protégés.
Another novelty this year is that the City of Zagreb has recognised the Osijek manifestation and decided to organise something similar on Bundek Lake. Easter on Bundek will be prepared and realised by the renowned Osijek “straw man” Nikola Fuller with the aid of members of the Slama association who reside in Zagreb.
Organisers have promised another interesting and fun Easter event in Osijek, both for children and others, and who knows, maybe someday they will make the famous Guinness Book of Records.
