EU Offers Technical and Financial Support Curriculum Reform in Croatia

ZAGREB, January 19, 2018 – The European Commission has supported Croatia’s efforts to conduct the curriculum reform, and accordingly it has set aside some four million kuna for technical assistance, according to a press release issued by the Croatian Science and Education Ministry.

“The European Commission’s Structural Reform Support Service, SRSS, is going to provide the Science and Education Ministry with technical assistance for the preparation, monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of the curriculum reform, first in the pilot stage and later in its comprehensive implementation,” the Ministry said, adding that this was one of the conclusions of a recent meeting between representatives of the ministry’s representatives and SRSS representatives.

SRSS is a service of the European Commission with a mandate to support EU Member States with the preparation, design and implementation of growth-enhancing reforms and it provides tailor-made support on the ground.

As part of the technical assistance, the Commission has also committed itself to disburse some four million kuna for this reform which will enable the ministry to broaden a range of activities in this field, according to the press release.
