July the 1st, 2025 – If you’re familiar with the popular Fuliranje, you’ll likely associate it with the Advent period. Now, we’ve got a Summer Fuliranje Sunset right in the very heart of Zagreb.
On June the 30th, Zagreb gained yet another great reason to stay in the city as the temperatures rise: the Fuliranje Summer Sunset festival is now open on Josip Juraj Strossmayer Square! It’s the only city festival to bring together a fantastic team consisting of local chefs and talented cocktail masters in ten booths.

In addition, the Fuliranje Summer Sunset in Zagreb creates a truly unforgettable atmosphere, bringing great music and gourmet snacks to the very heart of the Croatian capital. This mini version of the legendary winter Fuliranje, which has become synonymous with the awarded Advent in Zagreb celebrations, has been showcasing just how a pleasant summer festival can be transformed into a gastronomic oasis for the second consecutive year.

From the moment we set foot among the luxurious palm and olive trees and smelled the first aromas coming from the booths, we knew we were in the right place. There’s plenty ready to knock you off your feet in one single location (in a nice way, of course!).
There’s chef Mario Mihelj, a member of the MasterChef jury, Split’s favourite chef Ivan Pažanin, chef Ivan Temšić from Noel, Zagreb’s first Michelin-starred restaurant, chef Mauro Renje, who won the audience’s hearts in Hell’s Kitchen, as well as the most talented young pastry chef Juraj Klepić. There is also the unmistakable Pastamisee team, the always inspired Jellyfish in Space team, the creative Briocherie, and the brilliant bartenders and mixologists at the Ginglebells house and Mojito bar.

We can’t lie – we tried everything on offer at the Fuliranje Summer Sunset in Zagreb and each of our senses were tickled. It didn’t take much effort to see for ourselves just how this festival brings street food and delicious gastronomic delights together in a perfect combination. Pažanin’s much loved burgers delight those present with Mediterranean splendour and juicy local meat. Tres Tacos by Mario Mihelj are also a real explosion of carefully balanced flavours. If you’re wondering whether Tex Mex Chicken, Crispy Shrimp or Asado Beef is better, then our solution would be to try them all and see!

Noel Street Food lures you in easily with its aromas, followed by mouth watering flavours in unique creations. These include Tuna Tatar Sand with marinated tuna and fermented chilli, glazed pork Char Siu with roasted peppers, Spicy octopus and Chicken Parmigiana that simply melts in your mouth.

At Makaman, where chef Mauro Renje is hard at work, we were blown away with a tradition with a twist – Lamb roast in a panini sandwich. The pieces of lamb are as soft as butter, complemented by crispy potato chips, discreet spices and onion mayonnaise, all wrapped in a warm and juicy panini soaked in lamb stock.

We’ll remember the flavours that came with the respected Jellyfish in Space signature for a long time. We tried irresistible Bao Buns and Rice cake with tuna tartare and pulled pork. Pastamisee also won us over yet again, particularly with its creamy Cacio e pepe pasta made from cheese rings and a truffle version that will impress all foodies.

Briocherie kućica made sure to take care of both the salty and sweet experiences, offering Brioche ćevapi with kajmak, and combinations of brioche filled with Nutella and soft serve ice cream.

Once again, a huge attraction of this festival is Gdje je Jura by Klepić Juraj. The beloved pastry chef is impressing all who pass by with his truly innovative desserts, among which the “Slice Ice” (the first ice cream in strips on the domestic festival scene) particularly stands out. We can’t go without mentioning Fry Gelato, fried vanilla ice cream in crispy kadaif, and the luxurious Cannolini Bombardini.

Prepared especially for the Fuliranje Summer Sunset in Zagreb, Juraj presented the Ice Wind from Dinara – this delicious sponge cake is wonderfully complemented by vanilla and ricotta creams, lemon and lime gel, meringue and fresh fruit. In short, refreshing summer flavours with all kinds of twists await you in every bite.

Ginglebells is once again in charge of the liquid refreshments, offering as many as eighteen legendary signature cocktails. The Mojito bar with a special offer of Mojito in four versions is also incredible, as is the varied selection of other drinks – from icy Corona, excellent Kultura kombucha, great wines, brandies and spirits, and a rich selection of non-alcoholic beverages.
The Mojito bar is also hiding a Ledo treasure chest full of all our favourite ice creams. This Thursday from 18:00 to 21:00, there will be a “bar takeover” here in the form of a guest appearance by an excellent surprise bartender.

The Summer Sunset bash every night also takes care of a grear musical backdrop. The festival was opened by “Summer Breeze” and DJ Stanko Bondža, followed by special evenings Tutti Frutti, Summer Madness, Let’s Dance, Easy Sunday, with performances by Robert Mareković, DJ Dadoo, DJ Kance, DJ Benca and Marin Bukljaš, while the festival for this year will draw to a close with DJ Jazzozo.

Of particular interest are the Art Bottega Wine & Paint workshops. They combine wine, canvas and paint, creating the perfect moment for relaxation and creative expression under the starry sky. They’re scheduled for July the 1st and July the 3rd from 19:00 onwards.
Admission to the Fuliranje Summer Sunset in Zagreb is free, and the opening hours are from Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 00:00. On weekends, Fuliranje Summer Sunset opens its “doors” as early as 11:00! See you at the most delicious sunset in town! This year’s Fuliranje Summer Sunset runs from June the 30th to July the 6th at Trg Josipa Juraj Strossmayera/Josip Juraj Strossmayer Square, in the heart of Zagreb.
