The new mobile phone app brings us old maps, postcards and photos of Croatia’s capital city.
A new app for Android smartphones combines maps, postcards and photos to take you on a tour of Zagreb as it once was, reports tportal.hr on December 18, 2017.
The Greetings from Zagreb app, developed by the Plava Tvornica studio, enables users to choose between current or old city maps, to virtually explore ten locations (the earliest available map is from 1926), and send or share about 50 old postcards from the collection of the National and University Library.
The app’s catalogue currently includes about 150 available images, but the number should constantly be increased.
The Now&Then feature will show users how the capital of Croatia has changed through history, and they will be able to read old postcards as well.
This is the first mobile phone app developed by the National and University Library in Zagreb, as well as any Croatian library in general, which is part of the new cultural and tourist offer of Croatia and Zagreb.
The free to download the app in Croatian and English was created with the support of the Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb.
