May 20, 2020 – Leading Croatian portal Index.hr launches an English-language platform – meet Index International.
A few weeks ago, I was interviewing the owner of Index.hr, Matija Babic, about his new TasteAtlas project which is slowly becoming one of the most authoritative global gourmet websites. You can read the interview here.
During our chat, he gave me the heads up that he was planning to launch an English version of Index.
Wait, what?
Could TCN survive competition from the most popular portal in Croatia with an English version?
And after the initial shock, I found myself smiling.
And I see the news as extremely positive for Croatia, for now finally there is a medium which has the resources, journalists and pull to start telling the world about the realities of the Mighty State of Uhljebistan. That can only accelerate the agonisingly slow pace of change here.

TCN is already diversifying into other projects away from its main portal, and I am happy to lose some of my market share for the future benefits which change will bring.
