Over 2,500 individual pieces of fireworks to light up the skies over Zagreb.
From 17 to 19 June, the right bank of the Sava River and the Bundek Park in Zagreb will host the 16th International Fireworks Festival, which will be attended by some of the world’s most famous fireworks display companies. They will demonstrate their skills and use over 2,500 individual pieces of fireworks to light up the skies over Zagreb. The Festival will be organized by Croatian company Mirnovec Pirotehnika, reports Večernji List on June 13, 2016.
The organizers of the Festival expect tens of thousands of visitors who will be able to enjoy the competition of the Croatian Mirnovec team with teams from Italy and Poland, which are specialized for big public fireworks.
The Italian team Scarpato Pirotecnica is known for their fiery flowers, while the family company Surex from Poland is a winner of numerous awards at international competitions and is globally recognized for its musical fireworks.
Fireworks displays will last for 10 minutes. In order to make competition even more exciting, this year each team will have a special assignment. During a period of three minutes, they will have to demonstrate their musical abilities and synchronize their displays with the Ivo Robić song “To You, My City”. The winner of the Festival will be chosen by the audience via special voting devices.
During all three days of the Festival, special musical programme will be provided with performances by Croatian musical artists. In addition to the musical programme, the organizers have prepared an entertaining programme for kids – there will be “baby fireworks” at 10 pm, as well as an amusement park.
As in previous years, the Festival will again organize a campaign to raise funds for humanitarian organizations “Krijesnica” and “Veliko Srce Malom Srcu”. For each lantern sold at the Festival, the organizers will make a donation to the organizations. Last year, each of the organizations received almost 5,000 kuna.
