The Dalmatian Woodstock returns to Lastovo after two years and will be held from 1 to 4 August
“When something exists on enthusiasm, volunteering and idealism of the future there can be no sustainability, especially when it is narrowly dependent on the transition of political authority, whether local, regional and or national. Everything has an expiry date, but it is disappointing when there are no arguments or alternatives…”
This is only a part of a Facebook post on the page of the Lastovo – Music Island group from two years ago, announcing the manifestation’s cancellation. For years it brought many Croatian and foreign performers and their followers to Lastovo Island. Obviously the political climate on the island is now favourable so good news spread like a wildfire – in the beginning of August the Dalmatian Woodstock is returning to the Duke Mihajlo Bay!
The first day of August is reserved for jazz lovers – the Max Klub Jazz Quarter and Elevators, followed a day later by swing skabilly from the Justin’s Johnson band and The Beat Fleet.
Legendary Slovenian band Lačni Franz, a famous regional band from the 1980s and 1990s led by songwriter Zoran Predin are set for 3 August together with the Fighting Fish band, whose repertoire contains songs from Aretha Franklin, B.B. King, Blues Brothers, U2, RHCP and Jamiroquai.
The last day is reserved for Detour and Cuban music band Cubismo.
