More international praise for UberBOAT comes from Marie Claire and their guide on how to use the new service
Since the launch of UberBOAT a couple of weeks ago, people have been flocking to the coast to try out the new attractive transport service. By people, I mean both regular travellers and reporters – UberBOAT has been a media darling worldwide for weeks now, and the latest tip of the proverbial hat comes from Delphine Chui of Marie Claire who boldly stated UberBOAT “might just change how you holiday”.
The young journalist says she was on holiday in Split with two friends and decided to try out the service. Not having much information about how the system works beforehand, she recalls being impressed by UberBOAT’s app that even offered help via WhatsApp message, like a little customer service on the go. Comforting reassurance for anyone who tends to get a bit worried – and considered you’re headed for the open sea, that’s understandable, so it’s nice to have a support system at hand.
The travelling trio was welcomed by skipper Zoran and a well-equipped boat with a fully stocked fridge; they gave him a price range, agreed on the first destination, and they set off.
In one of the first presentations of UberBOAT Croatia, spontaneity was listed as one of the main benefits of the service. That’s what Chui praised as well – as they didn’t make a strict schedule in advance nor had a fixed travelling route, they created their trip on the go. Chui only knew she wanted to see the Blue Cave, so they first headed to Biševo island, then went for a swim at Stiniva beach on Vis, finished by Sveta Nedilja on Hvar where the crew did a quick tour of a local winery… along with a wine tasting, of course. I must say, I’m into this itinerary – making plans as I type.
It was a full day trip, lasting about 7 hours which they spent on and off the boat, depending on location. Yet another proof of the second main advantage of UberBOAT – it enables people to do some quality island-hopping without having to charter a boat or bother with numerous ferry schedules. You order a boat, work out a few basic details with the skipper, and you’re all set. No worries, no hassle, no tickets to buy, and total freedom – exactly what everyone wants out of their holiday. Oh, and according to Chui, if you ask nicely, you might even get to steer the boat for a minute or two.
