ZAGREB, January 27, 2018 – Museum Night 2018 was held in over 200 museums and various institutions in about 100 towns and municipalities around Croatia on Friday under the title “Museums and Sports – Faster, Higher, Stronger”.
The event focused on analysing existing exhibitions dedicated to sports and creating new ones as well as on encouraging local initiatives to preserve and cherish sports as a cultural value.
The 13th annual Museum Night was officially opened at the Zagreb Gymnastic Society “Croatian Falcon”, with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Culture Minister Nina Obuljen Koržinek attending.
Plenković said Museum Night was an opportunity to present to the public in a popular way museums around the country that preserved Croatian culture and identity.
For the second consecutive year, the Confucius Institute at the University of Zagreb turned the lobby of the Student Centre into a small Chinatown to show visitors the development of sports in China and the historic successes of its athletes as part of a photo exhibition.
