The project was in the works for seven years.
The story about “National Geographic – Croatia from Above” is one of the most successful photographic stories in Croatia. It is a major project which was being prepared for seven years. Two years ago it had its premiere at the Croatian Association of Artists and a massive number of visitors flocked in to see it. The exhibition was since set up at waterfronts and squares of the 19 Croatian cities, as well as in downtown Milan during EXPO 2015, the biggest world fair. Croatia from Above has been seen by as many as 1,200,000 people, and it became the most visited Croatian photo exhibition, reports telegram.hr on June 12 2016.
Zagreb now has a chance to see it again, at the request of its residents. „Because many have not come to the exhibition first time it was set up in Zagreb, we decided to repeat it, but out in the open, in the very heart of the city, so that it is accessible to an even greater number of residents and visitors“, said Davor Rostuhar, the exhibition author. “Thanks to the Zagreb Tourist Board, the residents and visitors have an opportunity to enjoy the photos from 8 to 28 June at the one of the most beautiful parks in Zagreb – Zrinjevac”, Rostuhar added.
After Zagreb, he is going to tour Croatia. “To offer some additional content to the visitors, we have enriched it with some new, never before seen photos of Zagreb from the air”, the author said. “National Geographic – Croatia from Above” will next go to Poreč (1-12 July), Lošinj (15-27 July), Zadar (30 July – 16 August), Korčula (18-26 August), and Samobor (5-17 October).
In addition to the exhibition, visitors can watch a multimedia photo-projection and buy photos, calendars and postcards, as well as luxurious but affordable photo-books. The proceeds will be invested into the development of the project “Croatia from Above” and other new projects.
