The donation consists of an anaesthetic apparatus that can also be used as a ventilator, for Sisak General Hospital, an ambulance that is especially equipped with a defibrillator and mobile ventilator for Sisak-Moslavina County’s Emergency Medical unit and one hundred protective jackets for construction workers, volunteers and earthquake engineers.
The donation is valued at HRK 1.5 million.
It was a pleasure to participate in this humanitarian drive, Canadian Ambassador to Croatia Alan Bowman and US acting charges d’affaires Caitlin Piper said during the handover ceremony, which was also attended by Australian acting charges d’affaires Daniel Joseph Emery, and deputy head of the Japanese diplomatic mission in Croatia Kazumasa Miyazaki.
Director of the emergency medical unit, Tomislav Fabijanić, said that the new four-wheel drive ambulance will be located in Petrinja and will enable emergency services to the most remote villages.
State-Secretary in the Central Office for Croats Abroad Zvonko Milas thanked everyone for the valuable donation, while the president of the Association of Croatian-American Professionals (ACAP) speaking on behalf of the One Croatia initiative said that new humanitarian drives would continue. The second stage will focus on equipping firefighting units.
